Originally created for the now defunct Ever Fly event “Libertine”, the “Libertini” cocktail has officially taken on a life of its own. Scented with the classic aroma of Thailand, it delivers a complex, yet refreshing tipple perfect for sunset sipping.
“Libertini” Thai magroot lime & roselle martini
1 oz Thai kaffir lime leaf-infused vodka (bottle infused minimum 2 days before with generous bunch of leaves)
1 oz Thai kaffir lime leaf syrup (boil 2 cups water with a big bunch of Thai kaffir lime leaves/stems, 1 cup sugar, reduce for 15 minutes)
1/2 oz triple sec
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
3 oz homemade roselle tisane (really simple, buy dried hibiscus flowers at your local herbal provider, boil a handful in 2 cups water for 15 minutes. add sugar to your taste – should be a bit tart, not sweet)
Mix all in a shaker with ice, strain and pour into a martini glass.
For lighter drinkers, serve in a tall glass on the rocks.
