Tender/buttery salmon sashimi with octopus, the vegetable/shellfish salad in the small glass totally confounded us – it was amazing (but we still don’t know what it was)
picture this: crunchy softshell crab wrapped in marinated, sushi-grade salmon – stunning!
saikoro steak was truly the standout dish in a menu of excellence…meltingly tender beef with an incredibly “beefy” taste cooked to perfection.
unagi (eel) maki – luscious!
super inventive – who would ever think to put scallops & cheese together? we fought to eat the last piece of “scallop pizza”
dessert was a “sake bomb”
love the interesting concept accents: “obi” style banquet seating was cozy/comfortable
metres of sake…we only got through 2 bottles
Grappa Sassicaia – perfect after dinner digestif!

Suggested to me years ago by my good friend from Penang who’s Chinese; this is still my go to place for Hong Kong-style noodles, roast duck, crispy pork…this trip I tried the fried noodle-wrapped shrimp – crunchy and tasty.
One of the best desserts by far: a piece of mango, surrounded by custard and deep fried – decadent and surprisingly savory (not very sweet)
